About Us
Building a Brighter Future, One Period at a Time
Jaytee Fayemi Foundation (JTF Foundation) is a non-profit organization founded on July 17, 2020, by Jesutofunmi Janet Fayemi. The foundation aims to address the challenges facing young girls who menstruate in Nigeria, including inequitable access to menstrual health education and hygiene products, as well as menstrual stigma and discrimination.
Achievements
- Since inception, the foundation has organized numerous outreaches and programs reaching thousands of individuals across diverse communities in Oyo, Osun, Kwara, Borno, Ogun, Lagos, and Edo states.
- Notable events include a market rally at Agbado Oja market to sensitize the public on menstruation, a virtual menstrual health and hygiene campaign, and a program in Edo state to commemorate the International Day of the Girl Child.
- Commemoration of the 2024 World Menstrual Health and Hygiene Day through school and community outreaches in seven states across four geopolitical zones of the country which positively impacted the lives of over a thousand young girls.
Financial Overview
Funding primarily comes from personal funds and efforts to secure donors and contributions through platforms like GoFundMe. Budgets are developed for every project to ensure cost-effectiveness and successful completion.
Leadership and Governance
The foundation consists of four board members, executive team members, and approximately 20 volunteers. Decisions are made through executive meetings and collaboration between volunteers and executives.
Recognition and Awards
The foundation was successfully registered under the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria. Impact includes reaching over 5,000 teenagers and distributing over 3,000 sanitary pads.

Awareness & Educational Programs
We conduct comprehensive awareness seminars and educational programs aimed at promoting menstrual hygiene knowledge and practices among girls and women. Through interactive sessions, we empower individuals with the information and resources they need to manage their menstrual health effectively.
School Outreaches
We engage with schools and educational institutions to provide targeted outreach programs focused on menstrual hygiene education. By collaborating with teachers, students, and school administrators, we aim to foster a supportive environment that promotes menstrual health and well-being.
Community Outreaches
Our community outreach initiatives extend our reach to underserved communities, where we provide essential menstrual hygiene resources and support. Through community meetings, health camps, and door-to-door campaigns, we address the unique challenges faced by individuals in these areas and promote access to menstrual products and services.
Rallies
We organize vibrant rallies and events to raise awareness about menstrual hygiene issues and advocate for change. By mobilizing communities, organizations, and policymakers, we amplify the voices of those affected by period poverty and advocate for policies that promote menstrual health equity.
Government Advocacy
We engage in targeted advocacy efforts to influence government policies and programs related to menstrual hygiene. By collaborating with policymakers and advocating for legislative reforms, we work to ensure that menstrual health education and access to hygiene products are prioritized on the national agenda.
Objectives and Goals
What We Aim to Achieve
- To improve the menstrual health and hygiene of young girls through continuous sensitization and organizing seminars in schools, religious gatherings, and local communities.
- To eradicate period poverty by distributing sanitary pads to less privileged girls and enable access to appropriate menstrual hygiene materials.
- To eliminate stigma associated with menstruation through advocacy and campaign rallies.
- To raise awareness on menstrual health issues with the ultimate objective of motivating greater funding to combat the issues.
- To bridge the knowledge gap about menstruation and menstrual health and hygiene through health education and the use of educative materials
Key Activities and Impact
Since its inception, the foundation has organized several outreaches and programs on menstrual health and hygiene in several schools, churches, and communities across five states in Nigeria namely; Oyo, Osun, Ogun, Lagos, and Edo states.
To commemorate the world health day celebrated on the 7th of April 2024, the foundation organized a market rally at Agbado Oja market to sensitize the public on menstruation, advocate against menstrual stigma and discrimination. It also championed a virtual menstrual health and hygiene campaign involving young girls aged 10-15 speaking on their rights to good menstrual health and hygiene.
The organization also recently organized programs in Edo state to commemorate the 2024 international day of the girl child.

These outreaches have not only impacted young girls in terms of knowledge but have also boosted their self-confidence to engage in open discussions about menstruation and share disturbing concerns that relate to their menstrual and sexual health.
